Taekwondo Program

 

 

- Seattle Taekwondo Academy is a Black Belt program. Students start as a White Belt and can graduate as a Black Belt. The length of time to earn your Black Belt depends on the individual student. Everyone’s journey on the path to Black Belt is different.

- Our curriculum consists of all the major areas of Black Belt training. As the student progresses through the Color Belt ranks their mental focus sharpens while their physical fitness requirements increase in difficulty. This prepares them for a Black Belt.

Basic Exercises - Blocks, Punches, Kicks, Strikes, Footwork and Stances
Forms - Poomsae
Sparring - Olympic Style
Self Defense - Wrestling, Judo, Hapkido, Grappling, Kickboxing, Karate, Aikido, Boxing, and Kali.
Fitness, Tumbling and Stretching - Pentathlon training, Judo rolls and Flexibility
Weapons, Refereeing and Teaching
School Grades - Strong Academic Achievements
Tenants – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit

Tiny Tigers Program | Ages 4 - 5
- Students are introduced to a structured routine of basic Taekwondo moves, running, tumbling, stretching, agility, balance and fitness.
- Students are taught to listen and follow the directions of the Master InstructorsMs. McCall and Mr. Craig.
- Class meets Tuesdays, for 30 minutes, from 5:15 - 5:45pm.

Junior Program | Ages 6 - 12
- Students learn Olympic Sparring, Self-Defense (Wrestling, Judo, Hapkido, etc.), Poomsae (Forms), Tumbling, Flexibility and Fitness.
- Students fine hone their motor skills and mental skills through training in the basics of kicks, blocks, strikes, punches, stances, footwork, fitness and stretches.
- Students develop confidence, focus, discipline, perseverance and respect for oneself.
- The Junior program teaches many life lessons that benefit the student.

Teenager | Adult Program
- Students learn Olympic Sparring, Self-Defense (Wrestling, Judo, Hapkido, etc.), Poomsae (Forms), Tumbling, Flexibility and Fitness.

Advanced Black Belt Program
- Classes consist of many different styles of Martial Arts giving the Black Belt a diverse background.
- Students learn Boxing, Kickboxing, Grappling, Hapkido, Karate, Judo, Aikido, , Wrestling and Kali.
- The skills learned from these classes are requirements for advanced levels for Black Belt
